EINFAMILENHAUS
2009
Built on a sloping site, the rooms are organised around a central staircase with an imposing tree which pierces through the floor plates. The main inspiration was for each room to enjoy the view of growing vegetation, whilst still retaining privacy. Set over four floors, the design comprises of four bedrooms overlooking a large multi-level open plan living area, a top floor retained for the master suite and other features including a gym/sauna room, laundry and office.
The tree acts as a spine for the house and is a perfect illustration of connecting interior and exterior spaces in architectural planning and design. The use and function of the tree would be further enhanced during the Christmas season, where each room would face a beautifully decorated Christmas Tree.
