LIBYA

PALM WATERFRONT

2013

Palm Waterfront was an architectural concept that would form an extension to the already realised Palm City project and further expanding the Janzour area into an inviting city.

The proposal included a boutique hotel, lagoon, more than 100 large apartments of varied typologies, and a extensive entertainment area. The buildings cluster around an attractive eighty-yacht marina. The entertainment hub would create a vibrant node of activity and includes six cinemas, a bowling alley, several restaurants and shopping facilities.

The design featured Architectural portals, which framed inviting views to the marina and the sea. In turn the bordering promenade enhances the accessibility and experience of these spaces. Libya’s hot climate necessitated the consideration of the suns altitude as well as a strong emphasis on green landscaping and shading. The aim of this project was to create a catalyst for Janzour’s further development.
